Britain is steeped in history and has seen many invaders that have left their mark. 

 We will see sites ranging from the pre-historic to the modern day. Walk on Hadrian’s Wall built by the Romans or visit the stone circle at Stonehenge and wonder how it was made without modern machinery. See Viking settlements and WWII airfields. Visit battle fields such as those where the Red Rose of Lancashire fought the White Rose of Yorkshire, or where the Scots fought the English. Maybe even see one of the many re-enactments that are staged throughout the summer and see the history come to life. Of course don't forget our industrial heritage too with our network of canals, and railways. See a working cotton mill or travel on a steam railway.
